BSc.Physician Assistant Studies
Description
Physician assistants (PAs) are highly qualified health professionals who work with physicians to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. PAs provide physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests,assist in surgery, coordinate care, provide preventive healthcare advice, and prescribe medicine, among other things.
The BSc. Degree Programme in Physician Assistant Studies has been carefully designed to train students to become valuable members of a health-care team, with a collaborative approach to patient-centered care that improves treatment plans and outcomes.
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following entry requirements:
WASSCE I SSCE APPLICANT (LEVEL 100) – Six (6) credit passes (D – C6) including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and any three (3) relevant elective subject in General Science background (Physics, Chemistry,Biology and Elective Mathematics)
LEVEL 200:
- Qualified Medical Assistant Certificate holders.
- Enrolled Nurses (CHN, NAC, HAC)
- RGN, RM, Disease Control Officers & Health Information Officers
- Applicants will be admitted to level 200, subject to passing an access course and an interview
LEVEL 300:
- Qualified Medical Assistant Diploma Holders
